Monsignor Bartlett Memorial Arena

The main arena on Bell Island is Monsignor Bartlett Memorial Arena, located in Wabana on Davidson Avenue. The arena officially opened in 1957 and was named in honour of Monsignor George F. Bartlett, who played a major role in developing sports and recreation on Bell Island. It replaced the older Wabana Arena, which had served the community since 1913.
The arena has long been the center of hockey and community events on Bell Island. It has been home to teams such as the Bell Island Blues and Bell Island Jr. Blues, and today continues to host minor hockey, public skating, tournaments, and local gatherings.
