Wabana Volunteer Fire Department

The newest fire station in Wabana is located on West Mines Road and was built in 2016 to replace the older station on Quigley’s Line. The modern facility serves the Wabana Fire Department and provides improved emergency response coverage for Bell Island residents.
The station houses several firefighting vehicles, including pumpers, tankers, and a command unit, allowing firefighters to respond to structure fires, vehicle accidents, brush fires, and other emergencies. The newer building was designed to better accommodate modern firefighting equipment and improve operational efficiency compared to the former station.
In addition to the new station, the department received a modern fire truck through a provincial-municipal partnership. The truck included a 1,000-gallon water tank, foam suppression system, and four-door crew cab to strengthen fire protection services for the community
